Gesture, distance, silence, and autonomy are the base vocabulary
in this convergence of voices. These two are no strangers to
form
and intention. They are a means to an ends duo with every component in
its appropriate place. The four pieces are a collection of
improvisations that swell , drive, and cut across layered fields of
sound to structures of arid restraint. A demanding
work
that rewards the disciplined listener with unfolding depths.

With such a
well-seasoned line-up as this one can only assume a most engaging
result. These pieces slowly blur the distinction between improvisation
and post-production concrete construction. Starting from a recording of
a live performance the works gradually introduce surrounding acoustic
events and other trickery into the mix. At most points it is hard to
make the distinction especially given the formidable palates of these
individuals. An absolutely compelling listen.
